Wine Spectator scores Escarpment highly

Escarpment’s 2016 single vineyard wines continue to receive acclaim, this time in the most recent edition of Wine Spectator Insider, where they come top of New Zealand wines with 94 points:

Kiwa Pinot Noir 2016 Escarpment – 94 pts
White pepper, sage and forest floor notes upfront lead to vibrant cherry and wild strawberry flavours on a crisp frame, with touches of sarsaparilla and tomato leaf lingering on the finish. The tannins are firm but polished.

Kupe Pinot Noir 2016 Escarpment – 94 pts
Subtle, with details of talcum, white pepper and dried lavender upfront, leading to pomegranate and wild strawberry flavours. A hint of sandalwood lingers on the finish, where the fine-grained tannins take on a gentle grip.
